Bishop Philip Poole is the area bishop for the York-Credit Valley episcopal area, which is the southwestern part of the diocese. York-Credit Valley includes the deaneries of North Peel, Humber, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Toronto West and Parkdale. Bishop Poole was educated at Wilfrid Laurier University and received his Master of Divinity degree from Trinity College in 1977 and his Master of Theology from Trinity College in 1988. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1978 and served in three parishes in the Diocese of Toronto, most recently as the incumbent of Trinity, Aurora. He is currently the president of the international Compass Rose Society, which supports to the work of the Anglican Communion Office, with special attention on communications.
